Tesla owners will have access to public charging stations in the Town of Fishkill next year.
That’s according to a press release from David Livshin, president and CEO of The Dagar Group Ltd. He is the managing agent for the Hudson Valley Towne Center near the intersection of Route 9 and I-84.
Twelve stations will be installed at the property by spring 2020, according to the release, which noted Tesla has installed more than 14,497 superchargers since 2012.
“We are very pleased to have Tesla adding these new stations to the property which will be an enhancement and benefit to our local customers and travelers passing through Dutchess County,” Livshin said.
Town Supervisor Bob LaColla said in a statement that Tesla representatives approached the town last year to give an overview of the project.
“…we were able to work with them to complete the necessary review and approvals,” LaColla said. “Locating the stations here, at the crossroads of the Hudson Valley in Fishkill, is the type of private-sector green initiative we like to see.”
The center at 18 Westage Drive includes businesses like Chipotle, Famous Footwear, Five Guys, Regal Cinema, Boutique Wines & Liquor and more. The chargers allow drivers to “recover up to 180 miles of range in 15 minutes,” the release said.
Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro said in a statement that the supercharger will provide Tesla owners will have access to a “quick and seamless experience when traveling long distance.”
